Suominen is a global manufacturer of nonwovens. As a part of Suominen’s corporate social responsibility strategy, a blind hiring pilot with the intent of advancing diversity and ensuring equal opportunities for all job applicants was launched in 2015. The project revealed that a large portion of the applicant’s personal data is not significant when hiring. On the other hand, personal information might effect the recruitment process on an unconscious level. The pilot was successful, and blind hiring as a practice brought more efficiency, clarity, and organization to the recruitment process.
