The Federation of Mother and Child Homes and Shelters’ equality act of 2016 was the Tarinakengät exhibition, which showcased intimate partnership violence in a narrating and participatory way. The shoes presented in the exhibition told authentic stories about experiencing and surviving violence directed towards women. The stories were gathered through interviews, and digitally via Facebook and email contact. Altogether 22 stories were included. The goal was to bring more visibility to intimate partnership violence that women experience and survive, and spread awareness and understanding on its consequences.
