The Ombudsman for Equality: Campaign Against Pregnancy Discrimination: Pregnancy Discrimination is no Child’s Play

As their equality act, the Ombudsman for Equality established the Pregnancy Discrimination is no Child’s Play campaign against pregnancy discrimination in 2017. As much as half of the working life inquiries reaching the Ombudsman for Equality are related to pregnancy discrimination. The goal of the campaign was to evoke societal conversation about the commonness and combating of pregnancy discrimination, and to encourage those suspecting pregnancy and family leave discrimination to learn about their rights. The Pregnancy Discrimination is no Child’s Play campaign was visible in social media, movie theatres, as well as the TV channels of Yle – the Finnish Broadcasting Company. The campaign generated a substantial amount of discussion in the media as well as in social media.
