Naisten tukeminen äitiyden alkumetreillä (kun äitiys on vielä haastavampaa kun on vauvan kanssa yksin). Teko tulee lisäämään tasa-arvoa, koska naiselle jää voimia ns.vauvavuoden jälkeen esim. siirtyä työelämään, myös jaksaa olla vauvan kanssa ja nauttia vauvasta. Hankkeeseen liittyy, että tulevat terveydenhoitajat oppivat olemaan hyvässä vuorovaikutuksessa äidin kanssa ja säätelemään omaa ammattirooliaan sekä työtunteitaan suhteessa työhön ja äitiin/asiakkaaseen. Tämä kaikki on siis naisen/äidin etu ja tässä tapauksessa myös vauvan.<br />

DEVELOPING THE PROFESSIONALISM AND PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE AND SKILLS OF A PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE<br />

The aim is to increase nurses professional interaction skills, being aware of their pofessional role, when supporting early interaction between mother and baby, advising and councelling the wellbeing of mother and baby, and sharing the joy of motherhood and the happiness the baby brings. Students are from Turku University of Applied science (Turun ammattikorkeakoulu), Bachelor of Health Care, Nursing and also already working public nursers.<br />

MOTHER AND BABY – FAMILY SUPPORT ACTIVITIES <br />

These support activitivies are there to increasing a mother’s feeling of agency, empowerment, capability and sufficiency, and sharing the joy brought by the baby’s wellbeing and good care, also sharing worries and providing information about childcare, and discussing mother’s own wellbeing. This all is happening as nurse students practise/work and meeting mothers at home and also online where is further advices and discussions.<br />

MEET A PROFESSIONAL NURSE -STUDY <br />

The study discusses the concept of professionalism, handling the professional role, customer load and emotions at work, and themes of setting bounderies at and for work, and how one can develop one’s skills in these issues through councelling and supervisory methods in training and at work. The study also surveys how of the participants felt their professionalism amd their professional skills had developed as a result of the project, its effects on practical work and their own wellbeing and how they manage workload. The quality of the service to the customers is studied be means of questionnaires. The bodies we propably would cooperate with, such as the Mannerheim League for Child Welfare (MLL), also provide their own assessment. One aspect that is looked into is using the online environment for guiding and supervising the clients, for learning together and for developing in one’s profession. <br />
